ABOUT & PRIVACY
A second look, with clear limits.
Understand what the check can tell you, what stays unknown, and how your text is handled.
What it looks for
Risky requests in English text and contact details on a limited stored list.
What it cannot establish
Who sent a message, or whether it is real. It can miss scams and flag honest messages.
Your message stays here
Your text and screenshots are processed on this device. No account or saved message history.
What the results mean
- This message has warning signs
- The text contains a risky request or warning pattern. The visible reasons name what was found; follow the protective steps shown.
- There isn’t enough information
- The check cannot establish a match to reviewed records. Missing details, an unresolved check, or screenshot text can cause this result. Use another contact method before acting.
- A named detail matches our records
- The result names exactly what matched: a website address, an email domain, or a phone number. It does not establish the sender’s identity or inspect the destination page.
The current contact list is awaiting human review, so it cannot establish a match to reviewed records yet. A listed address never cancels a risky request.
What does the check look at?
It uses fixed English patterns for requests such as sharing sign-in codes, paying with gift cards, or allowing remote access. It compares extracted website addresses, email domains, and phone numbers with a limited local list.
It does not open message links, inspect redirects or hidden links, verify callers, or know what happened outside the text you provide.
What changes when I use a screenshot?
The screenshot tool reads English text from PNG or JPEG images on your device. Compare every word with the image and fix errors before checking. Missing words, especially “not” or “never,” can change the result.
Screenshot text cannot establish a match to reviewed records, even after your review.
How is my text handled?
The checker does not upload or save your message or screenshot. There is no analytics or message history. Use “Check another message” to clear the current check on a shared device.
Leave out passwords, account numbers, and real sign-in codes. Paper copies may contain private details; keep them somewhere secure.
The site, screenshot reader, and recovery search tools first need to load onto your device. Every page may not work offline. Official help links and phone calls leave this site and have their own privacy practices.
Sharing or copying a request for help uses only the fixed request shown, never your message. The app you choose sends it and may keep a copy.
Who built this, and who is it for?
Safety4Seniors is a workshop prototype built from the Tech for Silvers workshops, a Tech4All initiative. Its help resources are for the United States.
The site can help you choose a next step. It cannot recover funds or file a report for you.
